This package traveled UPS expedited 2-5 days which in actuality was delivered in 9 days but for international that is a win. I dropped at a local UPS "ship and copy" where they printed my forms, attached the clear envelope, and super-taped my box. The owner informed me I paid about 40% less to pre-pay my package than if I had brought it to him to weight and calculate. Plus I was at home performing itemizing and VAT codes. Recipient was contacted for tax code then a second time for clarification about "book/journal" (which does not translate well) and didn't matter because a reduced tax did not apply.
Despite sending everything as "personal items" recipient paid VAT at rate of "declared value" rather than an 8-15% rate. We roll with it, even though I am sending stuff from recipients own bedroom. UPS offered receiver could pay VAT online or at delivery and chose to pay online which is convenient. This was our first true fuss-free experience in 6 different experiences.
