Customs on the senders end.

If I was told beforehand that the customs charges would apply, that would have been better. I did not want the receiver to pay since it was a gift and defeats the whole purpose of it.

For some reasons this package was severely taxed with custom duties (about $150 USD- almost the same as the value of the content). The content were not much different that the one I sent earlier with EMS.

Parcel Monkey makes it extraordinarily easy to send packages- both domestically and internationally. They take the guess out of the price of the service by requiring the weight and dimensions of the package to estimate the shipping charge. I have been impressed by their responsive customer service when there has been an issue.
