Erroneous hidden charges ***BUYER BEWARE***

I used "Parcel Monkey" to ship an item from the US to the UK as I thought the savings were attractive. The parcel was routed through DHL and arrived on scheduled. At that point I was satisfied. That was until the recipient then received an erroneous invoice from DHL for £16.51 which included a £12 "Advancement Fee" for bypassing UK Customs. I was not made aware of this at the time of ordering and expected no further charges less liable duty. Customer service has tried fobbing me off stating the recipient is responsible for all "Import Charges" - that could mean anything drummed up by the courier over normal import duty. Exercise caution when using this company as this was not experience I was expecting.
