Packages to China need a receipt for the payment of the product in shipment

I completed the form declaring the price of the gift I sent a friend in China. I did not see any instructions saying I needed to include a receipt for the gift I was shipping. Therefore, my fist shipment to China stayed in customs, in China, for many days due to the package not having a receipt of the product in the package. The recepient was asked to pay the equivalent of $8 US dollars for each day the package sat in customs. He argued and finally got them to delete the extra charges. After much duress obtaining the receipt and getting it sent to the correct place in China, all was well and the package was delivered!!
The current package I sent to China was so much easier because I knew to include the receipt in the package!!! Shipment had a short delay in China waiting for a self clearance form from the recepient of the package. However, the whole process was much easier, less hassles, and quicker!
I will continue to use Parcel Monkey for my international shipments. -
