Most new, unopened merchandise sold by The Home Depot can be returned within 90 days of purchase. There is an advantage is you purchase items using payment methods such as The Home Depot Consumer Credit Card, The Home Depot Commercial Revolving Charge, or The Home Depot Commercial Account, which entitles you to have 365 days from the date of purchase to receive a full refund. Returns for purchases with valid proof of purchase will be refunded via the original payment method.

The Home Depot offers free returns for items sold online and in store. If convenient for you, take your purchase back to any Home Depot and get your money back instantly or exchange for something else. Take a copy of your receipt or shipping confirmation email as well as your credit card used to pay for the item. It is also wise to take a copy of your ID.
If you wish to return items to Home Depot via mail, many items are eligible for a free return. On your account click 'Return Items' and you will be emailed a shipping label ready to print out and attach to your package. UPS will be able to accept this so drop off at any approved UPS store and get proof of purchase to track your items back to Home Depot. You will still need to package your items correctly as you will be responsible for them being shipped back safely.
