Customs advice for shipping to the USA
Customs requirements
If you’re sending a parcel to the US from overseas, you will be required to provide a customs declaration form detailing the contents of your package and the value. However, this will be taken care of during the booking process. We’ll ask you the relevant questions and provide you with a completed customs form to print and attach to your package. It is your responsibility to ensure the information you provide on this form is accurate.
Find out how to print your customs form and ensure your package clears customs without unnecessary delays by following our customs advice.
Prohibited items
Whether you’re sending a parcel to a friend in the USA or shipping for business purposes, it’s important to be aware of items which are prohibited or restricted from import to the US. Prohibited items are things which are forbidden from import to the USA by law. This includes, but is not limited to, any kind of illegal substance, dangerous toys, dog or cat fur and soil. Restricted items are those which may require additional permits or licences, this includes alcohol and some types of fruit and vegetables.
For detailed information on items prohibited and restricted from import to the US, please check the US Customs and Border Protection website.
