Can I send clothes via courier?

Packages that contain clothing are booked in every day via Parcel Monkey, as customers look to save money on sending clothes all over the globe. Our shipping calculator will find you the best prices around with well known and trusted couriers, who provide a quality delivery experience.

We help not only individuals but small online businesses too that are selling clothing online and ship to their customers all around the globe. Some even use our cheap international shipping for handling returns as well.

Other customers are only shipping within one country and make the most of our affordable Domestic services whilst other people use us to send old clothes to friends or family who live overseas and choose a more economically priced courier such as DHL eCommerce.

Packaging Clothes

Clothing is generally sent with no problems especially if it is being sent inside a country but it is important that when shipping clothes they are packaged and labeled correctly. Suitcases should not be sent unless they are packaged within a box with UPS or DPD.

Labels can easily come off suitcases so attach them in a label tag to the handle. Ensure the case is not overfilled and be closed properly.

Neither Parcel Monkey or the courier partner will not be liable for loss or damage to incorrectly packaged items. Please take the time to package your box or suitcase correctly and read our packaging advice before shipping.

Customs and Prohibited Items

Before shipping clothes internationally, check that the country you are shipping to does not have any restrictions on importing clothing, particularly 'used' clothing. You can find a list of countries where we are aware of import restrictions on clothing on our shipping clothing page. However, this is not an exhaustive list, so always check with the customs authority for the country you're shipping to.

If customs documents are required, be sure to clearly list all the clothing items you are sending, e.g. 3 x blue shirts, 2 x pairs of yellow socks. 'Clothing' or 'men's clothes' is not enough detail. This form should be attached to the outside of the package in a clear wallet or envelope marked 'Customs' and be securely attached so it can't come off and get lost during transit. Please note you should also provide a local contact number for the recipient in case any customs duty is owed. This will need to be paid by the recipient before the package can be delivered.

No aerosols or liquids should be sent, nor food, batteries or anything flammable. Sending items like this will mean your box could be held and delayed, or potentially even returned at the sender's expense.
