Customs advice for shipping to Hong Kong
Customs requirements
When shipping to Hong Kong from the USA, you will be required to complete a customs declaration form, which details the contents of your package, the intended use and the value. We will guide you through the customs declaration as part of the booking process. All you need to do is print the competed documents and attach them to your package.
Please ensure the information you provide is accurate as Hong Kong Customs will use this information to calculate any customs duties and taxes that may be due and will carry out random checks. If you under-declare your item, your package will be delayed and you could incur additional charges.
Prohibited items
Shipping restrictions to Hong Kong are some of the most relaxed, although Hong Kong does have some restrictions on plants, rice, meat, radio transmitting devices (including mobile phones), rough diamonds, explosives and fireworks.
Prohibited items include (but are not restricted to):
- Ivory and ivory products
- Personal drugs
- Pesticides
- Radioactives
- Sand (more than 100 kgs)
- Electronic Cigarettes
- Food containing non-permitted coloring matter, artificial sweeteners, aflatoxins, preservatives, anti-oxidants, or certain metals
Please consult the full list as provided by the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department on their website.
